15 years using the app for receipt tracking and invoicing. The new app completely ruined my experience, slow response, no feedback to entering values resulting in either lost revenue lost receipts or a dozen repeat entries. There was nothing wrong with the old app, you could have just changed the look but noooo let's reinvent the wheel. Thanks for the quick CS response but it was: sorry you don't like it anymore, don't let the door hit you on your way out.
The new app is slow and clunky. Takes way too long between pressing a button and something actually happening. The new design presents you with a lot of unimportant data whilst reducing the size of data that actually is important. The font size of what time you started/finished a task is tiny now! Wish they just kept with the old app. Update: After using the app more I've just found it utterly useless. So many things are poorly programmed, like having to refresh the page to update "Week Total".
Functional, but it just always feels like there's a screen full of content but never the thing I need to find. E.g. project codes are sorted by Client, but the client text headers are a faint grey, and smaller than the project names. And it always feels like I can never get a good overview of my timesheet while still seeing some annotation details. To be honest, that bit frustrates me on the main site too...
Was a fantastic app until the most recent update where they've changed everything that was good about it. It is no longer user friendly, trying to stop and start timers takes minutes and then 10 different timers appear when it eventually decides to work. After that I can't find the button to delete them. Please sort it out and revert back to the old user interface.
Basically if I can't stop or start time without wifi or mobile signal then a mobile app is pointless. Got on the train without turning the timer off on your desktop? You can only fix this by getting out pen and paper to write down the current time to work it out later. And why do I have to refresh the app immediately after opening for any time entries to display? Not as good as it was, to be honest.
very buggy on Android. have to restart constantly before the add receipt option will work. if you say take photo it will open the chose photo option. unusable in current form.
The app has minimal functionality and is far too limited. for example, it will show invoice history actions but you can't access any of it.
The new updates are horrible. Literally everything I loved about this app is gone. I can no longer quickly check how much money I made this month, or this year. I can't quickly check how many days are left until an invoice is due. I am experiencing weird bugs where it won't update my time, or find a project I've added on the desktop version (yes, it's synced). I've been using Harvest for about 5 years and I'm ready to find something new unless these issues are corrected and fast.
The idea of this app is great but the app is very glitchy. If you enter an expense you better TRIPLE check that it uploaded... there are several commands within the app that need to be clicked on 4-5 times before they actually work.
Every "update" makes this app less functional, especially while offline. I started using Harvest in 2022: I was working in the National Forests, and able to make time entries without connectivity. They were saved locally, on my device, and synced whenever I got back in service. Since then, the glitches have multiplied faster than I can report them. The only tech support I ever get is, "So sorry! Download the latest update," which of course only makes things worse. Restore the 2022 version plz!
Welp, they did it. This year they removed explicit sync (pulling down on the task list) and everything is very slow, to the point where I click something multiple times thinking nothing happened. Fonts are also significantly smaller in order to cram more into every view, which makes it harder to use. I wish I could downgrade to the 2022 version…
The new update made it so the timer notification isn't displayed on my lock screen anymore. It led to me accidentally leaving the timer on overnight. Then the new UI is much more confusing and makes it harder to go in and edit the time from the previous day that I accidentally left on. The app has become unusable for me. Edit: thank you for responding so quickly. Looking forward to a fix.
Our work HR is using Harvest so I am required to use it. It is pretty good -- at a minimum I appreciate that it not only works on my laptop, but the mobile version for my phone works as well. Not too many differences in the look and feel between my work computer and the scaled-down UI on my smartphone.
Constantly notifying me saying "did you forget a timer?". That's when I'm actively using a timer on PC. Although sometimes I'm not, and there is no timer running anymore, but it doesn't know that until you actually launch the app again. In general it won't actually know a timer is running on my PC, until I specifically open the app (though backend should be able to notify regardless). In any case once it finds the timer it immediately thinks it's forgotten. It's close to helpful but mostly not.
I've had this app for several years. I'm an independent consultant and it is perfect for tracking my hours. Creating invoices every month is a breeze. Agree with others that recent "updates" to the mobile interface are clunky, but not bad enough to make me stop using it. I want to give a shout out to the Harvest customer service team. Recently I wrote them & got an answer within an hour or two. Great service, thank you!!!
I honestly like the update. It looks clean and there is more info available than the previous version. My biggest complaint is the latency. The response time for clicking on most things is between 1 to 3 seconds. It's almost as if every click is being sent to a server and the UI only updates when the server responds. Maybe it's my phone, but regardless I will update my rating to 5 stars if the latency is brought down.
LOVE this app! however, I wish there was a way to modify the time by the actual start and end time. there have been times I left the timer running (my fault of course) sometimes I know when I stopped working but usually don't. So, if I start the timer, but it ran overnight and now it's 22 hours. I can roughly guess when I stopped the timer, but when did it start. would love if the system showed what time you started the timer then I could adjust the overage for when I stopped work
Can't log in. Used to work, there was an update, now I can't log in. Update! : I can now login and track work, but the app is still very depressing. Every single day it has a new quote about time that just makes me realize how little time I have in my life, and how I should be spending it doing anything else but working. One example is as follows: "Time is the longest distance between two places" What a depressing thing to be shown at the beginning of the day.
Decent app for tracking time and expenses. I mostly use the web app, so some of the features here are a bit barebones compared to the full web app. The biggest issue I have is with the timesheet entries not sorting properly - it sorts by time entered and not by time tracked. For example, if I made two entries and edited the second entry to occur prior to the first one, they will stay sorted using the original times, but the web app will sort them properly. Please fix this, Harvest!

Wish they just kept with the old app. Update: After using the app more I've just found it utterly useless. So many things are poorly programmed, like having to refresh the page to update "Week Total".
Was a fantastic app until the most recent update where they've changed everything that was good about it. It is no longer user friendly, trying to stop and start timers takes minutes and then 10 different timers appear when it eventually decides to work. After that I can't find the button to delete them. Please sort it out and revert back to the old user interface.
very buggy on Android. have to restart constantly before the add receipt option will work. if you say take photo it will open the chose photo option. unusable in current form.

The idea of this app is great but the app is very glitchy. If you enter an expense you better TRIPLE check that it uploaded... there are several commands within the app that need to be clicked on 4-5 times before they actually work.
