Access to a lot of important financial information at your fingertips is nice. However, many IMPORTANT "functions" seem consistently non-functional. On one page it shows my linked bank account; on another page it shows no linked account, which makes getting my money problematic. There is inaccurate personal information that didn't come from me. They have the wrong year listed as my date of retirement. Maybe some of these issues go deeper than the app itself. Getting assistance is difficult.
The app used to work okay, but for me, I am having an issue with the watchlist widget not working as well. It's incredibly frustrating, and it's been broken for weeks now. Please fix your app. No, I will not waste my time and "contact you", apparently it's a common issue, reading these other reviews. You know what's wrong. It's not account specific. Fix it please.
The App doesn't refresh the numbers on the positions page automatically or (real time) anymore after the last update..!!!! I have to keep refresh the page and pull it down to get the latest numbers.. This is bad..!! The App doesn't work like before.!!! move to the previous version or Get this fixed fidelity ASAP!!! Cleaning the files, cache, reinstalling.. all doesn't help. Admit the issue and send this to support to fix it!! I am not the only one complaining about this apparently..
App is falling apart. No way to login without constant 2-step verification. My phone is flooded with verification texts. The option to remember your device does not work. I was advised to disable it in my account, that option doesn't work either. Then I was told to delete the app and reinstall it. Didn't work. As a bonus, that DELETED my stock watchlist. Why on earth is my watchlist tied to app data and not my account?
Fidelity, what is happening!?! It appears with your new update, I can't easily make a credit card payment. After clicking on which pay account I'm going to use, when it takes you to the next screen, it does a lot of thinking, then a blank page! I wish ya'll would stop trying to change the appearance of the apps and just focus on it being FUNCTIONAL! I don't think many people care about how it looks, just that IT WORKS!!!
Was good at first, now features are slow. Trades slow. Says you have settled cash, then you use it and they hit you with violations. I could sell something today and it won't be available to trade tomorrow until market closes. Highest price when buying. Lowest price when selling. Otherwise won't fill. Also when I put an order in, it's never reflected into a quote. Go figure. Fidelity & Citadel in bed together.
update 7\1\25 now the widget that shows ticker symbols that you want to follow no longer is available on Android after recent update. Switching to Empower and may transfer my portfolio if I like their system and fees. use to be a very good app until about 3 wks ago and now the watchlists in the widget do not load any info... just says click to select list and I have created new watchlists and uninstalled the app so I will be looking for a new service.
What are y'all doing? The watchlist widget has been buggy for several months. Works perfectly for a weeks then just stopped showing on the watchlists for a day or two. Now, I picked up my phone this morning, and the widget is completely gone. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, and still nothing. Please fix this issue.
Buggy. Using it as the main tool to do trade can be heart breaking when you are not paying attention. buying a stock can suddenly end up buying number of dollars instead of quantity of shares. Initially it stays as buying number of shares but it can swap when one is not paying attention. Activity and Orders can take forever to load that I end up going to the website to check. Recently, it couldn't show options. Now, there's a download error on the app. Disappointing.
Fidelity is a great platform. I love their zero-cost mutual funds, and I love that I can see so many stats about my account/position values at a glance. What I wish they had more of, and why I took away 1 star: • They're just starting to embrace after-hours trading, but it still seems to be unavailable for quite a few products. • While I don't invest a lot in altcoins for obvious reasons, Fidelity only has three choices of crypto. • Their graphs could be improved.
The new update is simply horrendous. A prime example of UX developers sacrificing core app functionality so it looks "sleek". This app is absolutely useless for trading if you can't track your portfolio performance by holding, which you no longer can without clicking on 8 different things. I don't care if I have to side scroll to see everything. There is no point if I can't check the statistics of my positions in terms of overall gain/loss, day gain/loss, etc.
They rolled back whatever bug it was that broke the biometric login, which is nice, but now instead of a widget that sometimes crashes or refuses to update, they've gone and removed the watchlist-linked widget entirely! The widget was my main, go-to source for keeping a pulse on the market, and the big empty spot on my home screen is now my only reminder that I now have to log in to the app to see the current quotes. It just sucks that they've removed what was arguably the best part of the app.
The most recent update has caused me to lose all alerts and push notifications from the app on my Android. I can no longer receive trade alerts or any alerts I create. customer service and tech support are not really helpful, and tell me they will look into it. I have notifications on, have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but still nothing works. all alerts are gone.
So much is broken. My basket portfolio is set to reinvest dividends, and those new shares dont journal into my basket and show up in my regular portfolio view, which is confusing. I've been told this would be fixed. I'm paying extra for this service and it's still in beta. With the latest update I cannot arrange my positions by any order, alphabetically, etc. It's a jumbled mess and now harder to cycle from total value, % daily and total gain/loss. The widgets are now broken, and more
HORRIBLE app for depositing checks. I'm pretty tech savvy, but it took more than 20 attempts to scan just the front of a check. 'Move closer, move farther, use a dark background' over and over and over. I did all these things when instructed. So frustrating. Oh, and the 'capture manually' feature has no button to take a picture.
There is a big problem with the app lately. It won't let you sell specific shares of stock. If you try 90% of the time it will say can't find tax lot. So I have to boot up my computer, log in and do it there. Sounds like an inconvenience except this bug recently caused me to miss a stock price I wanted and resulted in a failed $100,000 transaction. FIX YOUR STUFF! AND DON'T USE OUTSOURCING.
The new update made it more tedious to view information on the positions tab. Previously I could see both prices and percentage changes at a glance and could cycle between info types with just a tap. Very quick and easy to use. Now, only one type of info is available at time, and to change type I have to use a drop down every time. Usability is much worse. Also, the previous red/green shades were softer and easier to view as a list. The new bold colors feel more cluttered.
It is basically just fine. Though could use some minor tweaks. I would like it to open up straight to asking me for my login rather than having to hit the login button. Also transfers to and from other banks should be integrated as being more intuitive...The biggest upset lately is my widgets disappeared. and I can't add then back. Even if there is a fix, I should not have to troubleshoot a banking app.
Decent app, but there is a display bug in the quick view page that shows all accounts without logging in. If the account name and the dollar amount can't fit on the same line, the dollar amount wraps around to the left. So now some amounts show on the right and others on the left, which looks unpolished. The overall total on top should include linked accounts, not only Fidelity accounts. At least there should be an option for that.
The app is easy to use but more than that, I find the merit of a financial institution is not only how well they take care of your money, but also how easy they make it to move your money OUT when you want to (it is your money after all, but a lot of places stall like crazy!). I wanted to transfer part of an IRA to a different platform, and Fidelity made that process incredibly easy and FAST! I was very impressed. Will definitely continue to use their services.
I have been a very happy Fidelity customer for 35 years. I tried the big brokerage companies that offer personal service. What did I find out? They grew rich and I barely broke even, even in booming markets. Fidelity gives me the tools and the information I need to make the best financial decisions. My money has grown exponentially so that I can withdraw funds to pay big bills and still see huge gains to my portfolio. It isn’t rocket science. Research the highest yielding funds over the long and short term at the risk level you are comfortable with. Fidelity’s research is sooo darn easy that I can find and print off the research in minutes. I rebalance my funds, drop the dogs, invest in some new winners. It really is that easy. Need money transferred to your bank account? Click, click, you are done. Fees are extremely low too. Need help? Call the 800 number and their very knowledgeable Representatives will assist you quickly and cheerfully. Now I am the one making the money, not my broker. I have taught all of my children to invest with Fidelity and they are light years ahead of their peers financially.
I signed up for Fidelity a few months ago. Everything seemed to be working well at first. Then, I realized that over $500 had been taken out of my account as I was trading, claiming that it was taxes that were being withheld. I have never had this happen on any of the other apps I use (Webull, Robinhood, Ameritrade, etc.). So I called Fidelity. The person whom I first spoke with said that I just needed to fill out a tax form and then the money would be placed back in my account. He then sent me the tax form. I filled it out and uploaded it to my account. After about 10 days of not seeing the money placed back in my account, I called again. This time, the representative said that the first person whom I spoke with was not correct. The money cannot be placed back in my account. And in order to get the money back, I would need to go through the work of retrieving it from the government when I do my taxes next time. So just to warn people, if you are going to use Fidelity, realize that if you download the mobile app and link it to your bank account, this may very well happen to you. And there is no warning or notification that you even need to fill out this tax form. So I would personally use one of the other well known apps, which all seem to be immune to this problem. Or, if you do create a Fidelity account, make sure to figure out how to get their tax form and upload it to avoid this mess.
I have been with fidelity for years. I am really surprised by this app. I don't use it mainly because when I trade, the beautiful full screen makes me rotate my iPad Pro 13” sideways to read the screen. When I have it connected to my keyboard, I have to read sideways to place a trade. Do the programmers realize how ridiculous this is? You’re a multi million dollar financial company and you write an app that make you rotate your screen because it turns into an iPhone to make a trade? I only use my phone becuase of the pain the iPad create. Who is in charge? IT leadership needs a new head. Also, making a trades could be easier. We need a quick trade now button. Like click your lot and say sell now. Something without all the keystrokes. Lastly, when making a limit order, put the time of trade before the limit price so you can only go back one screen to make a quick change to price before executing. Instead you have to go back 2 screens and forward 2 screens to change the price. Not well thought out. I also agree with everything Bakutraders said about general trading with fidelity. Not sure why there are no premarket quotes on the apps, premarket hours, trading premarket qqq, etc. Come on fidelity get with the times.
Have been with Fidelity for over forty years. We started investing when we had our first two thousand dollars to get started. We were very frugal and managed to get our savings increased until we have enough money to buy stocks. From then on, we patiently kept investing, spent less on material things and it still amazes us how we could have become this rich. Fidelity has been very good to us. All the personnel we dealt with were very knowledgeable, kind and treated us kindly even we never look like millionaires. I have recommended Fidelity time and time again to those who are willing to listen. I have always gone to your seminars. At one time I drove all the way to Dallas to listen to Mr Ned Johnson so I can meet him personally. Never got a chance to talk to him to let him know how I think highly of the campany. My husband and I are very blessed for having connected with Fidelity since we started investing. It was the best decision we ever did fur the family. Our children went to school using our lifelong savings, and set a trusts for them, and now we are doing the same thing for the grandchildren. Rosé Sulistio
Its one of the best I have come across so far but it has its flaws as well. First and most importantly theres no after-hours quoting on the app. Their IT department disregarded the most important feature? Anyways, also you have to sign a lot of paperwork to start trading normally. Any type of trade needs to be applied for and authorized pretty much. Many leveraged ETF's are not available. Pre-markets orders start from 7am whereas even a crappy online brokerage running from garage such as Webull allows 4am trading. Last but not least it would be nice of they gave credit in certain amount to start trading right away when you make a deposit. What I do like about Fidelity is that I know my money is safe with them and they have live customer service although sometimes you have to wait a lot to talk to a representatives. Still better than the crappy customer service Webull ( over-messaging ) or Ameritrade ( rude) or Interactive Brokers ( INDIA outsourced) provided. The app is great with customized news feed and detailed info of your stocks. The HEAT MAP is probably the best feature! I love it! The streaming is also smooth. Oh, I have to say the execution of the trades are FLAWLESS! The best trade executions I have seen so far. Like I said in the beginning one of the best brokerages out there.

I have notifications on, have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but still nothing works. all alerts are gone.

update 7\1\25 now the widget that shows ticker symbols that you want to follow no longer is available on Android after recent update.
The widgets are now broken, and more
There is a big problem with the app lately.
