Clapper: Video, Live, Chat

Edit: Sounds like a lot of hassle. It would just be easier to delete it and look for something better. Next time make a fully functional app. Just downloaded and tried using ph. number to sign up for an account. Then I entered verification code at sent through text. This is as far as it will let me go because after that it just kept trying to tell me to sign in and I haven't even made a password yet. What's the point in having this app if you can't even sign up for an account?

Not to sure about what's going on. I have one human follower, the rest are clearly bots. The bot "followers" have no content on their profiles, and all they do is click like on your videos. Most videos are of people talking about stuff, I hear enough talking, I want to be entertained at the end of the day. Also, many videos lag, and it looks almost dubbed :/ Seriously, Im not here for likes or listening to more talking, I'm here for fun. All and all, it's a decent app if you prefer this genre.

Has immediate access to live and videos, but the lives do not show up on the fyp. Not easy gaining exposure so you have to do more. It may be good for some but frustrating for others. May try it again in the future. Its good for people looking to make friends and connect if you're a social butterfly; is what the verified folks keep making videos on there for new users.

Clapper is close to it's competitor tiktok. But the app lacks a lot of key elements such as a search bar for sounds, filters, video editing, and uploading videos either buffer or stays at 40% and says video can't be uploaded. With how bad the duet feature is they might as well take it down. Also the app doesn't have an adjustment for sounds so you can't change when the sound starts and stops. If this app wants to be a competitor and gain more people, these key elements need to be addressed.

I like the app for the most part, but 2 issues I have is I think they need more of the same category selections like tiktok has and I think they should add filters and templates etc. Its been a few years since I've joined and nothing has been improved. Also, when I upload my own video with my own logo on it, I get a warning about how I can post it to my page, but not the fyp because of their stupid AI that detected some stupid watermark. So f'in what...it's my watermark for my video! Petty

This app has potential to be a TikTok replacement, but there are issues that need to be fixed. For example, even if I down vote, I still keep seeing content I voted not to see. Sometimes, the videos loop and I will keep seeing the same content on repeat. The first few videos I uploaded had gotten a few hundered views, and the last two had one or two views. So, the algorithm doesn't seem that good. Lastly, you can only add 5 hashtags and no location. Needs imrovement for sure, but has potential.

Overall is good and it has much potential if more features are added. One essential feature that is missing and it really annoys me is the inability to select a cover for the video. When you upload the app will select for cover the first second of the first frame and it usually look weird or miss the point of what that video is about. I suggest to add the cover feature including the ability to add a picture as the cover as in Reels.

New to clapper. So far I notice you get a lot more views and it seems to have more abilities for small businesses to sell their products, which is awesome. I also love the groupchat feature. It works to truly make it feel like a community. The downside is the editing and quality is VERY limited so you have to do it outside the app. The for you feed is...meh (lot of politics I don't agree with show up) but I hope it gets better with time.

Doesn't let me sign up because of "too many accounts registered with this device." Edit: I didn't have any other accounts with Clapper and it was my first time trying to register with Clapper at all when I received that message. So, no, I didnt create other accounts with Clapper previously. That's just 0.

I personally enjoy Clapper due to the fact that that it's similar to other apps but you have more freedom here! It's easy to learn how to navigate through the app when first starting out. Clapper has alot of great options to choose from. I enjoy that Clapper allows great content, great options for content creators, and so much more freedom and not being penalized for so many things like other apps penalize you for! Thank you Clapper for being so great, allowing me to connect with ppl I relate to

1/19/25 updated rating. I've actually dropped it down to a 1 star. I'm trying to enjoy it but it's very hard to do. The video quality is not good, my algorithm is not algorithming, TONS of stolen content being shared, no filters to find videos, unable to share videos with others, etc. I don't understand how a social media app that's been around since 2020 has not made needed improvements to keep up with other media platforms. Fingers crossed improvements come sooner than later.

Came over like many others, a tiktok refuge. I have great wifi, yet I can't load a single video. In the 24 hours I've had this, I've seen 3 vids. Thats it. It crashes, the vids I do get to see are glitchy. I would really like to use this app, but so far, it's impossible. It doesn't even load on my cell wifi. I have nothing. All other apps load immediately. **edit** just got the notification that they are limiting access...

Have tried for about a week to get this app to work. Will never let you sign up for an account or load anything, just keeps sending notifications but can't ever open them because the app won't let you sign up, every time I get to the birthdate screen, it says there's an error and won't go any further. I've tried signing up using Google, Facebook and phone number, all 3 same issues. Have reinstalled numerous times with phone restarts between. Totally unusable. Uninstalled and moving on. Bye 👋

Terrible algorithm. The more you click "not interested" the more they force the exact same content into your feed. Not worth the download. Likes and follows mean nothing because they force you to view what they want you to view. Even if a "wide variety" of content is available, it forces the same set of videos you've already clicked "not interested" on half a dozen times already

There's potential to be a good competitor to the likes of TikTok and Instagram. Few things, though: the notifications are kind of terrible, there is no search option for sounds, and the overall aesthetic of the app is not pretty (yes that's a big deal). Add more stitch and duet options, and the ability to search for sounds. "Filters" and effects will also be welcomed. I know it's supposed to be creator focused. Videos do not upload. Just get the spinning ring.

it's nice to have an alternative to TikTok and all, but the fact that it's not very screen reader friendly is unfortunately what ends up killing this app dead for me. I'm able to navigate it easier than others, if only because because these three minute video apps all use the same layout, more or less. if they just made it easier for screen reader users to navigate, my opinion would change significantly.

App won't allow me to create a profile, "opps, something went wrong" error code. Can't create a profile using either of the tree options. What's the point in downloading! Response to Clapper media group 6/27/24, I've deleted and reinstalled your application multiple times in the past and again today. Still nothing happens, my phone is up to date and everything is working fine; with the exception of your app.

There appears to be a bug where views don't always get counted for, example; I'll get a few likes on a video, but the view count stays the same, which makes no sense. Also, it sometimes crashes when I edit videos, but I can easily edit them before uploading to the app, even though that might be an issue for other users that aren't as technologically inclined. There's potential here. You can not create more than 1 account at this time. 1/7/25

there are things I like about the app; that it's 18+ the lack of censorship, the ability to grow. but the platform needs SO MUCH IMPROVEMENT. editing tools are non-existent, so I recorded with my phone and upload my edited versions. however, the footage uploaded looks entirely different than what I actually filmed. colors are muted, & the video turns out grainy. don't even get me started on the music selection. there's not a single recognizable song available.

I like it so far...it's similar to tik tok...so, the switch was simple. I only wish they had a music selection to go with my posts. As of now, I'm only posting my old tik toks. But, I'd like the ability to create as I used to with the other app. The editing was key...plus, the music created an "ambiance" for the posts. Thank you...love it so far though. 😁

I love this App! I first tried TikTok to improve my business reach but it doesn't doesn't no matter how many videos I post and good content. It doesn't favor new people unless you get lucky by the algorithm. With Clapper, it fairly spreads your work to existing users which is amazing! The engagement on Clapper is so supportive and positive! I love it! Just needs better music search options. Ways to save and use trending songs. I have to scroll all the way down to look for songs. I hate that.

Very fun app to be in. Easy to make videos. The hashtag views don't seem to be correct. I really wish there was a live option. It seems when I upload videos, the video seems to zoom in after upload. Sometimes it takes a little longer to load some videos. Wish there was an option for selecting sounds for videos as well as well as effects. With it being a newer app I do believe these issues will be fixed in time and advanced. Im looking forward to a brighter future

I was recruited to this app from being seen on a different platform I’m a creator on. I enjoy having an app that focuses on freedom of speech, politics, point of views- things that a lot of viewers don’t want to see on other apps. This app gives the ability to create content on these topics that others can engage with. On my other platforms my content isn’t based around content like this. Those apps aren’t created for those topics that this app is specifically for. I enjoy to step away from my other content and have the ability to share my thoughts/beliefs on here. I enjoy having a like and dislike option. The reason I give 4 stars is for 2 things I dislike. 1- the quality of a video I create and shared onto here is horrible! Video quality seems like “GIF” quality. 2- I will receive a notification, but I can’t get my feed to update when I try to look at comments/likes. This app has a lot of potential moving forward. I honestly wouldn’t of known of this app unless I received a message.

It's a little glitchy but it's new. I have faith they'll fix it. Sometimes a video won't play when you flip to it; sometimes the video will play but a picture representation is covering all but the top & bottom of the video. I like how there's a couple more options that I don't believe TikTok has yet. I also like that it's based out of TX too.

I’ve been on clapper for several months now. I enjoy it so much because it’s so different than other social media sites. This is the first social media app with video content creation that got social media right! Here they combat bullying the right way. They don’t allow the toxicity like on other social media platforms. You get to personally chat with the employees of the app. Clapper allows the community to get together and allow our voice to be heard. Aside from that, this app is also fun! The gifts in lives are great, the radio is unique, the highlights during holidays and the groups are fun! Not only have I met amazing acquaintances, I’ve also made real true friends that I can now talk off the app. The app is nearing on its 1 year Birthday/Anniversary…Yes there has been some glitches and some things that some OG’s have had to adjust because of something that is out of Clappers control. However, aside from all that, this app has grown and overall, I enjoy it very much! I hope this app continues to grow and I hope to continue being a part of this amazing clapper community!

I came to clapper from tiktok and the difference is astounding! I am actually able to post all of my content freely without being blocked or banned for no reason! The algorithm is made a lot more clear and moderation is held to a exact guidebook and not just personal opinion. The community is generally nice and if they don’t enjoy the content they typically just scroll. That being said, there’s always room for improvements! I do think that clapper should have more editing features and introduce some “effects” or filters. I know that they don’t want to just copy tiktok completely but being an app focusing on lifestyle, blogging, and educators a few effects and editing features would defiantly improve creation. I tend to make videos on tiktok still and then reupload to clapper which is troublesome. I also would like to see a bit more improvement to the audio selections as well as organization! Audio is always incredibly important when it comes to content and scrolling through each sound that seems to be sorted randomly is a bit of a chore. All in all it is a very solid app with a lot of potential. I think they would do well to start attracting the tiktok crowed who have been burned by tiktoks horrible team.

The app is geared towards social interaction. I see it as a place to kinda stir up drama as it seems best fit for creators that have very strong and controversial opinions. You can “clap back” at another creator in the way you can stitch/duet on tiktok. But a lot of the videos I’ve seen like that make it seem like you can’t mute or quiet down the original video as it always plays over yours in the corner of the screen. Some of the content is good but a lot of it is just mundane life. I think this app has potential but I could never suggest it as a replacement for tiktok without some major upgrades. Quality of video is poor after uploading, there’s no ability to use audios in the way you can use them on tiktok and the editing is bare minimum. I’m gonna use it and see if I can develop content for it that suits the platform better but it’s definitely not the next tiktok like people seem to be saying. Enjoy it for what it is and you’ll love it. We are a platform of neutrality where users can converse and discover the world around them through content. To accomplish this, we generally allow Clapper users to moderate and curate their own content, to add on, I will take those points as a suggestion and will forward it to our team.

I LOVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH!! This is definitely my favorite thing about this app. So important! I get on here to hear real news and opinions that aren’t censored! I have really been enjoying it a lot but there is room for improvement. I know this is supposed to be the alternative to TikTok (thank God) but it is missing some of the bells and whistles. I would like to see more categories appear. There’s so much to see on TikTok, I’d like to see more on here. To be perfectly honest, TikTok was my outlet to sing without having to post on Facebook or Instagram. Singing to strangers is a lot easier than your friends so I enjoyed that but there’s not much of that on clapper. I love watching people display their talents too so I think it’d be more fun if there was more of that too. But I am loving the ability to be honest on this platform about politic, yes, but other things as well. Thank you, Clapper!
