Long time user, very disappointed. It used to be you could add potential relatives without needing a subscription. Now all I can do is look at my tree and add people manually which is no help for people trying to put a family tree together from nothing. I'm lucky to have a list to go through. But even that isn't complete. Now I have no way of filling in gaps without a subscription. A pay wall shouldn't block something so simple and important. Do better.

This app barely lets you sign in. Then every single time you click on a potential relative it tosses up an error that it isn't available and you need to add it manually. Useless. **EDIT: I am not on an older version, as there is no update available. This app is awful. I am not going to email you when you tried to gaslight me into thinking it was my fault that your app is faulty. Work out the bugs and release the update.

I've been on Ancestry for nearly 20 years now, and the mobile app since it was first around. Unfortunately, in the last year or so the user interface on the mobile app has significantly decreased in quality. There are functions I can do on the desktop that I am not able to do on the mobile app (such as clicking on a member's public tree from their profile). It's not because I don't have the membership level, nor because my app is out of date. Extremely disappointed

As for the app itself, the layout isn't bad. It offers a lot of information without having to search for it, that being said, the amount of things they have put behind a paywall is absolutely insane. I shouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars just to learn about my family. Also, ever since some update, everytime I look at hints it gives me an error. I'll usually have to go back and click it again multiple times just to load. It didn't used to have this problem, and yes, my app is "up to date."

For a service as popular as Ancestry, you would really expect them to have a functional app. But the glitching is almost constant. Branches often do not automatically collapse when you expand a new part of the tree, and it won't let you do so manually, resulting in icons being overlapped/muddled all over the place, making it impossible to open any individual profile. I have to restart the app almost constantly, making me lose track of where I was. It's almost unusable and extremely frustrating.
