This is my favorite game, only one I've ever bought a membership for, and no regrets. They did a pretty good job translating the game to an app, and in pretty impressed with how well it works for how new it is. I only experienced one log in bug on the first day this was launched, but it was quickly resolved. It's weirdly hard to zoom in and out, and I don't like that my whole screen is taken over when talking to NPCs. Other than that, it mostly just takes some getting used to the differences

Please fix the app. everytime I check my text messages I get logged out just because it's not the app open on my screen. please institue a delay or something like that I should not have to log out and log back in everytime I want to reply to a text. edit: it got worse. now when it logs me off it also removes my single sign on and disconnects me from everything so I have to input my password and get a code from email twice just to log back in. FIX YOUR APP JAGEX

The app is horrible. Launched the game this morning and it says it needs an update. So I tapped the message to open the store. Auto update is enabled and the only options are play or uninstall. I've had this happen before too. Nevermind the fact the game will say it can't reach the servers for 5-30 minutes at a time. Token is expired three or more times a day. Great game otherwise if app wasn't so shotty. My old phone the app played better for some reason. Needs a fix.

Extremely Disappointed, I was so excited when I saw I could play and the tiny tidbit I did witness looks awesome! The game fails to load constantly, takes 15-20 minutes just to get past the yellow loading bar. It freezes mid dialogue, after an hour I finally made it to the part where the Mayor talks about fish. Hopefully I'll be able to play soon then change my review. No it's not my phone or internet. I can play Fortnite, Wild Rift and COD at max graphics and my internet is 200mbs.

Haven't been able to log in on android. Sent email to jagex, gave me a list of things to try then said they won't trouble shoot if none of that works. Every time I try go log in it says technical difficulties or difficulties logging me in. Jagex response was that is usually when there is a high number of players. Every single time I try to log in though???? Mobile app is worthless.

Editing to say it's been 6 months and completely unable to log in even with a new phone. It's unreal it hasn't been fixed. It's like it suddenly became incompatible with my phones. Love it on PC but the app was glitchy even when I could get onto it. I don't understand how many people are playing while a lot of others cannot even get on.

I love this game and this is a good cell phone port, but it is laggy and crashes randomly on my Samsung S22 Ultra. I would love to give it 5 stars, but at the time I can't. Please fix the crashing issue. I can deal with some lag, but crashing in the middle of what your doing is annoying once it starts happening frequently. Overall it's a good game. I would pay for a membership if it didn't crash so much.

As a long-time Runescape player, I was somewhat hesitant to appreciate the idea of the game coming to mobile. However, when I joined the open beta I was pleasantly surprised that I could enjoy doing a lot of the tasks I would plan for the day without having to go on my PC. I find it a wonderful addition to be able to skill and kill low to mid level bosses/enemies. I do feel that high level bossing is better suited to PC, given the mechanic-heavy nature and having access to many more action bars/keybinds. But people are proving me wrong and some are excelling at high level bosses on mobile, so to each their own. RuneScape has a whole has evolved a lot over the years. Particularly with graphics and updates like the Evolution of Combat. If you're hesitant to play, or restart playing, because EoC was messy on release, I would advise giving it another shot. It's been ironed-out a lot more since the initial release and is a much more fluid system than it was in its earlier stages. I'd also say that RuneScape is one of the most worthwhile MMOs on the market purely for its aesthetic when it comes to quests. Bar-none, this game has the best quest system of its kind. Lore-rich adventures and interesting, varied, storylines help mould the game world and really bring Gielinor (the name of the world where the game takes place) to life. If you like story-driven quests mixed with a bit of humor, some puzzles and combat, and a heaping dose of in-universe history and narrative that takes you on epic adventures then you'll really enjoy what the quests in this game have to offer.

Game is fine, app is trash. Game freezes/stutters constantly and when trying to participate in events the screen will not "un-fade" from black, preventing play. I can still interact with the game but can't see it. Edit: new battle pass has turned this game P2W and removed F2P friendly features, do not play this game unless you are willing to spend money on up to 3 different subscriptions in order to unlock all content

every time I open the game and get to the play button, the app crashes, and after over 50 attempts to start after crashing, I've checked for updates and other solutions, but there is no information about this issue... when the game does start, it's great with no issues. I really enjoy Runescape so I was excited to find out its mobile but the crashing issues are a buzz kill...

I appreciate having the mobile option, especially for quick gaming sessions during my breaks at work. However, I've encountered a recurring issue where exiting the app logs me out completely, requiring me to re-enter my email for login. This becomes frustrating, as I'm unable to retrieve the verification code from my email on my phone because it then tells me that I signed out of the jagex app when I go back in to insert the code. Is there a way to fix that? Thank you!

I grew up playing RuneScape (for almost 20 years). I really wish it was a game I could recommend to others, but the slow creeping/non-stop implementation of MTX has left RS3 a bastardized, empty shell of it's former self. As of September 4, 2023, RuneScape's core gameplay experience is almost completely unrecognizable to what it once was. I recommend anyone thinking about playing this game quickly turn the other way, unless you are looking for a Gacha Mobile Game to gamble your money away on.

The game itself is good but the app is highly unstable. First I kept getting kicked back to the welcome screen after selecting the character to play with, prompting me to select my character again, and after a day of trying, I actually got in. Then it kept crashing upon opening the bank which seems to be an issue from 2-4 years ago. I googled and tried for hours, reinstalled and now I got back to my first problem, I gave up after that point. If it runs on your device, enjoy! I'll see you on PC.

Customer service is just bad. I have come back after a decade and in the past two months the servers have crashed twice, they rolled back several hours of play and my account got stuck in one of their newer areas (new to me) and I couldn't log in, some sort of bug with the poison I think keeping me in combat. They had a bot ban me for botting, sent an appeal in but have heard nothing within 36 hours, I paid money for this service, played by the rules and I can't even call in to get help.

If you want to experience combat or questing without issues, this app fails badly. However, it's value comes from being a companion app for PC players who can grind out the less intensive skills while at work or on the toilet. New players should play for the first time on PC or be prepared to be underwhelmed. Longtime players will find this app invaluable.

I see many are having same issues.. game will crash the moment you boot it up. It seems this issue hasnt been fixed for a long time so if you are new, just let the game die with the current players as you wont be able to play as a new player. I also went to the jgx.game/techhelp and let me be the first to tell you, dont waste your time as i just finished going through and reading all but with no solution. Only option left is to contact them but we all know, they will give same instructions..

As a long-time player, I'm sad to see the gross monetization strategies that have been incorporated into this game recently. As a paying member, I've enjoyed content from this game for over a decade. But the ability to buy bank spaces, in-game gold, and rune metrics is a lot. The nail in the coffin is the most recent "Major Update", the Hero Pass system. They incorporated a battle pass which the only way to complete is to spend excessive amounts of money. This includes in-game buffs for content.

The app is useless. It logs you out of you minimize it. If you screw around too much it will fully log you out and it will take hours for it to let you back in, if using a jagex account, other login methods may be better. I just want to play the game and be able to verify what items do online. If the wiki option included at some places in menus would actually work maybe I wouldn't have to live in fear of never being able to log back in.

I'm confounded. I wanted to take advantage of the mobile-exclusive membership deals. Instead, I was met with a UI whose purchase button is halfway blocked by the Terms & Conditions redirect. On top of that, the membership purchased through here did not go through; it simply produces an error saying it's already bought when I retry. On top of THAT, even if I were interested in playing the game on mobile, most of the game won't render and it's just the UI buttons with a blank fog-of-war. Wow.

Great game, but the app needs a big overhaul. I haven't had an issues with crashing since I reinstalled it, but the game does lag and just doesn't have the graphical settings to let it be as pretty as it is on PC. This game is best played as an Iron Man imo, but it's great despite its many shortcomings. Ignoring the mtx is more than viable, and I don't feel like Im missing anything skilling like normal. I find this a lot easier and more chill than OSRS and prefer it in a lot of ways.

The game is fantastic. Mobile experience is great as well but… there is a lack of screen customization. Mobile is very cramped. And unfortunately there are not enough screen buttons for all necessary abilities. I believe you are given only 7 or 8 slots on each side. A couple prayers, + defensives, food, restore, shield and weapon for quick switches. And you easily run out of buttons on your screen. There is room for more buttons!!! Mobile players are at a huge disadvantage in bossing because we can’t macro our abilities to a keyboard. This you really really really need to add more buttons that we can drop abilities/items to on our screen for bossing. There is plenty of room!!!!! And even better just add a plus 1 button feature and let the player drag it anywhere on the screen and lock it. So he or she can add as many buttons as they want and wherever they need on their screen. Yay I can now have all my prayers, my freedom, shield, reso, weapon switch for nex, my food, my super restore, and yay room for a couple thresholds so I don’t have to be a full revo noob. And maybe room for a switch. Wow! I can finally play almost, and barely like a pc player. Until then. I can’t do jack crap on mobile for hard bosses. Huge let down.

I love this game so much, but since the BETA of this app I have experienced constant crashes whenever I use the Grand Exchange, the bank, or when I'm in a menu too long. It makes it unplayable for longer than 30 mins at a time. The best use is skilling at minimum graphics. I would save Quests & PvP for PC only. Update: Upon start-up; the game tries to throw you into a Fresh Start world without asking, resulting in an error message stating ineligibility for Fresh Start worlds.

So much better results! I used to crash repeatedly and couldnt even play the game! Was very frustrating but now the app works great! No crashes, even with my old S7 Active phone, my only issue is worlds with tons of people makes it lag really bad unless you have a great connection. I always go to dead worlds. Fantastic job by the developers! I'm very satisfied.

Have been playing the old school version on my phone but this one just seems to just keep crashing....would really appreciate an update to resolve this problem and I think a lot of others feel the same way. I've always loved Runescape since back in the day and really want to enjoy this one as well but until this issue is fixed it is 2 stars...haven't made it past the tutorial.

I’m really glad that this game is on mobile now for IOS. And I actually love it for the most part. But trying to private message people is really tough. Whenever I tap on someone’s name on my friends list. The chat box doesn’t even show the persons name I’m messaging. So then when I look at the “All chat screen” , it’ll show me that I sent the message to the wrong person. So then I have to go back to my friends list and hold on to someone’s name and then select to message the correct person. But still when your typing in the chat box. You can’t even tell who you’re messaging until you send the message and check the main chat screen afterwards. I can’t even imagine what boss fighting would be like when someone is trying to private message you. Also I like that it’s easy to tap locations. But when you’re trying to tap icons, the game thinks your trying to tap a location instead. And that can be pretty annoying. Also I feel like the currency pouch should be in a better location below the inventory or maybe somewhere else when you’re actually walking around and playing the game. I hate having to search for things on my screen through icons trying to find the currency pouch. I also feel like it’s hard to tap locations on the mini map. So instead I have to zoom out on my actual game screen and tap on locations in front of me. Overall though I like that it’s on mobile now. But yeah some of those things are really annoying.

The only issue I've experienced is that as of a month ago if I attempt to change worlds the game stops working and I have to reopen the game. The biggest issue with that is I'm unable to change worlds but in the grand scheme its not a big deal. Imo, its amazing quality ESPECIALLY for a mobile game. It literally is just like playing on PC but on my phone (display is different) and its super convenient to be able to play when I'm not home. This is from a 15 yr vet-player with a primier membership.

I’ve been waiting for the RuneScape app to be put on the IOS store for a long time. I felt like RuneScape makes sense on a mobile device and I think it’s the perfect place for RuneScape to grow its user base. There are however a couple of things I think need to be worked on. The most important thing right now is the clicking of buttons in the game. It’s VERY difficult to click buttons in the game. The game experience suffers as a result. It’s difficult to do much of anything the game needs you to do. Things that should be simple like messaging friends, navigating menus, or simply even closing a few of them are incredibly tedious and rage inducing to have to deal with. I understand there needs to be some compromises in this mobile version of the game but it genuinely feels like I’m fighting to play a game I normally enjoy relaxing with. The old school runescape app handles much better and I think I would prefer playing that over this on a more consistent basis but if this game can manage to fix some of its UI issues I can easily see myself playing this much more and I think I could get more friends to play this RuneScape version too. I hope those issues are resolved because I really do wanna give this a 5 stars but cannot in its current state. Hi Jedii40, thank you so much for your input. Our team is working non-stop on eliminating these issues, could you please install the latest update of the app? We've made several improvements ~Dorota

This game is fantastic. The free experience offers hundreds of hours of content, and opting into the membership will expand that to thousands of hours. There’s a wide variety of things to do, from quests to boss fights, and over 25 skills to train. Most of it offers players the freedom to engage as much or as little as they want, with obvious benefits to those who choose a more active approach. Progression feels incredibly rewarding and is the main reason I’ve stuck around with this game for so long. The main problems come from the fact that this is originally a PC experience that’s been transferred to mobile. It’s a point-and-click style of game, which sounds great in theory. However precision is quite difficult on a mobile device, especially on my phone which is fairly small. The UI is complex on the PC experience, and transferring that to mobile was done about as well as you could hope; but it still isn’t perfect. Many of the buttons are quite small, although this would likely be dependent on the size of your mobile device. But from my experience, I often find myself clicking on the wrong things accidentally, which is a minor annoyance. Overall I’d recommend this game to everyone, but the mobile experience has some clear limitations. Unless you’ve got a big phone or tiny fingers, I’d suggest doing some of the simpler content on mobile, and move to a computer for anything that requires complex and precise inputs.

Game worked great for a few weeks. Once my membership ended it's been non stop bugs. Unable to connect to the servers, UI issues, some visuals stop working when they feel like it. Seems related to losing my membership status but could be coincidental and just an update that's messing with things. Uninstall & reinstall to no avail. Wish things worked properly.

RuneScape has been around for at least 20 years and though it can be fun it brings its age-old issues with them; old jarring models clashes with newer graphics; quests are clunky and a HUGE chore (even in OSRS). Combat is fun AT FIRST, but later on (even with max skills and gear) you can still have a hard time on enemies that are below your level making you wonder why even bother 99 some skills. The goal of RS is leveling but for some skills like Farming and Runecrafting it’s frustrating because despite the features to level LATER ON the first 20 levels are frustrating to get to with a clunky learning process that can shoo new users away. The world is big but is at war with itself as the game evolves. As RuneScape try’s to modernize major cities, key NPCs and enemies as well as weapons and armor REALLY show their age, which wouldn’t be a problem for a retro feel but with micro transactions and seasonal events that reward cosmetics then you start to wonder why the developers would focus on that instead of fixing their world and NPCs at the very least the player avatar. The games unstructured in a lot of aspects, but it’s still fun. There ARE better MMOs and older players with rose-tinted glasses will say “the grinds part of it” but for those who value their time and don’t want an overly grinding experience look elsewhere. There ARE better MMOs and older players with rose-tinted glasses will say “the grinds part of it” but for those who value their time and don’t want an overly grinding experience look elsewhere.

Wow.

If you like story-driven quests mixed with a bit of humor, some puzzles and combat, and a heaping dose of in-universe history and narrative that takes you on epic adventures then you'll really enjoy what the quests in this game have to offer.

every time I open the game and get to the play button, the app crashes, and after over 50 attempts to start after crashing, I've checked for updates and other solutions, but there is no information about this issue... when the game does start, it's great with no issues.

Thank you!

Wow.

If you like story-driven quests mixed with a bit of humor, some puzzles and combat, and a heaping dose of in-universe history and narrative that takes you on epic adventures then you'll really enjoy what the quests in this game have to offer.

every time I open the game and get to the play button, the app crashes, and after over 50 attempts to start after crashing, I've checked for updates and other solutions, but there is no information about this issue... when the game does start, it's great with no issues.

Thank you!

Hi Matthew, thank you for your review! If you have some ideas or suggestion on how we can improve our game, please head over to our Discord server to share https://discord.com/invite/rs Thanks, we appreciate your feedback! -Kamila
