as far as apps go, has potential but not worth the price. I just bought a brand new car and the app doesn't even do all the things it advertises. It only updates the data when the car is running, and not even all of it. It's only been useful for the remote start so far, but I could have bought that separately without satellite for a little more than the 3y plan. Is useful but minor changes could make big improvements. Watch support would be the most impressive thing, J/S.

I now have to enter my password every single time I want to use that to unlock the doors etcetera which takes for too long when you're trying to get in your car quickly. I sure hope they get this resolved as they said months ago they were working on it.
We paid ~ $90US for three years of subscription at car buy--the workings of this are StarLink. Over that time, it has worked fairly well--usually only needing login & password re-entry required after a big android update or clearing of the phones caches. Since the "update" in February, the thing is totally ignorant. Each time I must enter login, password, and PIN to use the remote. Really? I have tried everything recommended on the web. It appears they really want biometric ID. Ruined.

I have to pay a stupid amount of money every year to maybe sometimes be able to start my car if this POS app decides to open. 30+ seconds for it to even attempt to open, and half the time forces me to enter a pin even though I've set up biometrics more times than I can count at this point. I may as well go locate my purse and dig through it for my keys to use the lock/unlock function because that still takes less time than this app.
Now, I have to enter a password, face or fingerprint recognition to use the app! Need quick access to the app at times, and it is not practical to do this, nor do I want to use facial recognition for privacy reasons. Fingerprint is not always reliable. I use a strong pin to access my phone. That should be enough. Paying $150 a year for this lame app to further add complexity to my life. I'm not logging into a bank account. This should be the user's choice! Will not be renewing subscription!
I used to absolutely love this app, and then it updated. I used to stay signed in and just need to use a 4 digit pin to start my car when I wanted to. When they updated it they said to make it easier, ya right. I do not use face recognition, and I have to use a username and password to sign in every single time now. it is so difficult to do while holding my toddler. and if you want to set a pin, you can, but you need to sign in with a password and also! do the pin to start the car. hate it.

Subscriber beware. Monthly subscription is non-refundable even if it doesnt function properly for you. I have had quite a negative experience. No widget available, you have to log in everytime. It won't start our vehicle. The app wont let me use face recognition roe log in and I do not want to log in everytime I try to lock unlock or start the vehicle. They support is very unhelpful.

But I could overlook all of that were it not for the fact that I absolutely get frustrated? waiting for this app to start. I have to wait for an app to load up, and God forbid there is any issue with the app, like a recent update that requires me to go back through privacy settings and such before the app crashes repeatedly and I have to restart my phone just to remote start my car. But at least Subaru gets that extra $4/month.

I attempted calling the number associated with the app here in the play store, and got an automated mailbox that did not identify itself as MySubaru support. Frankly, the app feels like a waste of money.

I'd bank that about 25% of my request dont go thru on cellular and another 25% take multiple attempts. Nothing like walking from in the store in winter trying start car and nothing happens because it can only spin. its a barely functioning app. Run on Samsung S22 and S25. even on wifi, requests take an absurd amount of time.
As with the rest of Subrau's technology packages they put in their cars, its slow, buggy, and always fails me when i really need it. i mean it works so it gets 2 stars (starts the car, lets me control the temp, and lets me find the car) but i feel like i cant rely on it when i need to use it urgently. App is buggy and sluggish. I just want to cool my car before I get in it by remote start. Most car manufacturers use a key fob remote that works instantly, and it's included with the car. I have to wait for an app to load up, and God forbid there is any issue with the app, like a recent update that requires me to go back through privacy settings and such before the app crashes repeatedly and I have to restart my phone just to remote start my car. But at least Subaru gets that extra $4/month.

I'm not sure why the need for a digit code on top of a password is required but it's frustrating. On top of that attempting to unlock the doors usually takes 2-3 times before it actually will so many times that feature isn't even worth it. I love my subaru but really wish this app was better.
The app was better before the last upgrade. I'd give more stars if I could have the PIN function back. I don't want to use my fingerprint. I have never given any device my biometrics. The app used to stay logged in and require my PIN each time I used the app to perform a function. It was quick and easy. Now I have to sign in everyday or almost every time I use the app, which makes it very cumbersome to use when I just want to lock my car on the go. I set up my PIN, but it never asks for it. 👎👎
will not load. open app and it stays on a white screen. nothing else. time to cancel my subscription. update- it finally worked for about a week. zero changes to anything on my phone and had not updated the app. just happened to try it and it worked. continued to work for about a week and suddenly, it wouldn't work again. I just updated and it still is not working.
I've waited almost a year to rate this app. It's not good. I was hoping it would improve but it didn't. It barely functions on a cellular network. I'd bank that about 25% of my request dont go thru on cellular and another 25% take multiple attempts. Nothing like walking from in the store in winter trying start car and nothing happens because it can only spin. its a barely functioning app. Run on Samsung S22 and S25. even on wifi, requests take an absurd amount of time.
As with the rest of Subrau's technology packages they put in their cars, its slow, buggy, and always fails me when i really need it. i mean it works so it gets 2 stars (starts the car, lets me control the temp, and lets me find the car) but i feel like i cant rely on it when i need to use it urgently. I always need to shut it down and restart it because it will time out of my log in and error out when i try to log in again and fails to start my car half of the time. Can go on but dont have space
works well enough, but for a paid subscription it would be more satisfying if it allowed integration with Google Assistant, and/or if you could use this in place of your physical keys... at least in an emergency or to start the car for someone else to drive it if you need it moved and don't have access to it yourself. also controlling the windows would be useful if you left them down and it started to rain burglars

I used to absolutely love this app, and then it updated. I used to stay signed in and just need to use a 4 digit pin to start my car when I wanted to. When they updated it they said to make it easier, ya right. I do not use face recognition, and I have to use a username and password to sign in every single time now. it is so difficult to do while holding my toddler. and if you want to set a pin, you can, but you need to sign in with a password and also! do the pin to start the car. hate it.
as far as apps go, has potential but not worth the price. I just bought a brand new car and the app doesn't even do all the things it advertises. It only updates the data when the car is running, and not even all of it. It's only been useful for the remote start so far, but I could have bought that separately without satellite for a little more than the 3y plan. Is useful but minor changes could make big improvements. Watch support would be the most impressive thing, J/S.

If they would do 2 things I would renew my subscription. 1. make it faster. 2. allow customizable widgets so I could start my car with different presets. (1 widget for heated climate settings, another for cool) In the current state the app is not worth the $99/year subscription.
It seems like after every update my app won't work. When I ipen the app, there is only a white screen with nothing else. When it does have the normal screen where I can press on the temperature or start my car, it doesn't turn the air on to what I asked it to do. One time I wanted my car on full cool and when I got to my car, thinking it was going to be cold, the temperature was at what I left it at the last time I turned my car off. It's a little ridiculous with how much the subscription cost.

Not the worst app in the world, but not exactly impressive. I would say the interface is not intuitive as far as how to find things that you need. But I could overlook all of that were it not for the fact that I absolutely get frustrated? waiting for this app to start. It does not matter which device it is on, I've had the same experience in every case -- the app can require up to 30 seconds to load and start running. It always been a slow loader, but it seems to have gotten really bad.

Over that time, it has worked fairly well--usually only needing login & password re-entry required after a big android update or clearing of the phones caches. It appears they really want biometric ID. Ruined.

I may as well go locate my purse and dig through it for my keys to use the lock/unlock function because that still takes less time than this app.

Need quick access to the app at times, and it is not practical to do this, nor do I want to use facial recognition for privacy reasons. Fingerprint is not always reliable. I use a strong pin to access my phone. That should be enough. Paying $150 a year for this lame app to further add complexity to my life. I'm not logging into a bank account. This should be the user's choice! Will not be renewing subscription!
came free with the car, I absolutely will not continue to subscribe after the free trial is up. app crashes 10-20% of the time, gets communication errors, and fails to execute app commands. I've got a 6 minute walk to my car after work, and it's not uncommon for me to arrive to a non-running car.
for the first 3 years i owned my subaru, I loved this app. after the update a few weeks ago, it rarely opens for me. that kind of defeats the purpose of having remote start if the app doesn't work. if I completely shut down my phone and restart, it usually will work. I also hate that I have to sign in with my password every single time. what's the point of having a pin if you have to do that? please reconsider and fix these glitches ASAP. for the price, it should be seamless.
Subscriber beware. Monthly subscription is non-refundable even if it doesnt function properly for you. I have had quite a negative experience. No widget available, you have to log in everytime. It won't start our vehicle. The app wont let me use face recognition roe log in and I do not want to log in everytime I try to lock unlock or start the vehicle. They support is very unhelpful.
App is buggy and sluggish. I just want to cool my car before I get in it by remote start. Most car manufacturers use a key fob remote that works instantly, and it's included with the car. I have to wait for an app to load up, and God forbid there is any issue with the app, like a recent update that requires me to go back through privacy settings and such before the app crashes repeatedly and I have to restart my phone just to remote start my car. But at least Subaru gets that extra $4/month.
I have not been able to use MySubaru in months. every time I try to log in on my phone I get an internal error pop-up, with no explanation, and no idea of root cause. I attempted calling the number associated with the app here in the play store, and got an automated mailbox that did not identify itself as MySubaru support. Frankly, the app feels like a waste of money.
