App is great and fun for the kids when it works. Three stars bc most of the time it is very slow loading (turning on, switching activities, etc.) We are still using the app during the free trial but will be cancelling at the end due to how slow it is. Would give 5 stars if it was faster...
Love the app and how easy it is to use and navigate. The only problem I come across at least 1 time every time I use the app is that something always freezes and I have to close out completely and choose a different game or activity. The app will just stay stuck on loading and nothing ever loads. Maybe in the next update they can fix that issue.
I can't get it to go past the letter A. We are stuck on the short video about CAKE! my kids have watched it so many times but it won't give them the blue ribbon and let us move on. Id really like to get this fixed so they can keep using this app. We are in the trial period of a 1 month subscription...going to cancel if not promptly resolved:( Updating my review...after reinstalling the app it finally let us move on. My kids love this app. I love the learning parts but not all the songs etc.
I signed up for the trial offer. My kid loves Homer so far, but there are technical issues. Most games have been functioning, but a handful or so wont load and eventually takes us back to the home screen. I'm at a crossroad. I want to keep the subscription for my kid, but am nervous these glitches will not be fixed and may potentially get worse. Leaning more towards ending subscription near the end of the free trial.
Probably a great app but the advertisement is misleading. You have to purchase the app to use it. It seems like a free app as it allows you to download and create an account for free, but then you hit the paywall before you get to any content. By pay wall, I mean "free trial" which will charge you after. I know myself and my child, taking away apps is difficult and I don't like to pay for apps because I'm a poor millennial 😅 I'm sure it's probably a great app, but it isn't free.
The Homer app is very easy to navigate and all of my kids have loved using it. It has been a great resource as a learning aid and I haven't come across any weird content in it. When my kids aren't doing the parts that are focused on learning, the recreational activities (videos, drawing) keep them entertained as well. My oldest aged out of it at 8 at a time when the app had much less content. Currently my 6 and 3 year old enjoy it.
We used this app awhile ago and was great. Signed up again and it crashes ALL the time. My kids wont even try it anymore because they are so frustrated. I uninstalled every other single app on their kindle fires to ensure enough memory. And still crashes. My subscription renews at the end of the year and I will be canceling it if the issue isnt resolved.
I really wanted my 2 year old to try this . And when they said 30 days free trail I believed them. But like always they ask for a credit card number which tells me and shows me that these 30 days really are not free and so if after 30 days you decide it's not for you the odds will be they are going to charge you for something and then say it was in the fine print. Now , I did find another app called playgarden pen and it truly is 30 days free. It does not ask for any kind of card. Try it!!!
Don't purchase, too many glitches, not worth it. We have two other subscription services but my 2 year old loves homer, unfortunately the app goes black while it's still talking numerous times in a single session of playing and is frustrating for both of us. I would uninstall this if it were free, certainly not worth paying for with these glitches.
Downloaded for my son (6) and daughter (3), and they are loving it! We really like how it progresses through learning and has multiple teaching activities to keep things from getting boring. Also love the art and narration - way more interactive and organic than other learning apps. I'm excited to see how quickly my 3yo can learn to read, she's been asking to play every night so far, and making good progress!
