Security & Privacy Review
The new card won't let you use rewards discounts at many places. :( :( :( I made 1 transaction, which stopped me at $20, and then I got an email saying that I reached the transaction limit. Sometimes their discounts don't go through. App is glitchy, sometimes doesn't want to work, especially when you look at the map for too long. I can't change my email despite clicking on both links sent to both emails. The only notifications I get are to play stupid games.
Standard discount used to be 5¢ now it's 3¢, but anything helps and with a little pre planning you can look for deals before you leave. Sure sometimes prices aren't accurate, but that's not the fault of the app. People have to report the prices. But the deals still work and, this works with gas station points from grocery stores to save even more.
This is a very unstable and somewhat buggy app. It will regularly lock up on my Pixel 8. (Gas Buddy App has stopped responding, wait or close app?) When you try to report gas prices, it will automatically blank the next grade up for you to type in; so confirm prices before adding ones that have changed. And don't bother with the flash sales; no matter how many times I've tried activating the fuel savings before pumping, I'm charged full price when it hits my bank account.
This used to be a simple app to use. But, I guess there was a new update after they already updated with a new Mastercard card. My account was essentially deleted, sort of. It had a different name, which my name finally came back. None of my cards are in my profile. It's totally useless. I think I will find another card. It's not worth trying to fix it.
This app is actively decaying. The gas buddy card is the only thing keeping me here, and it's almost not enough. I've had GB For like 10 years and it's pretty mid. I've never seen a price hike alert even though I've seen gas prices go up by $0.70 in one day in my area where I've bought gas hundreds of times. Lots of ads in the app even though I pay for a gas buddy card. the prices reported in the app are usually way lower than the actual prices. The app is going downhill. I can't recommend it
