Fun, but missing purpose and QoL. Getting to 100 is a slog, as many QoL things are missing, such as the enhancement menu being its own thing, even though a quick enhancement button after a day would speed everything up, as would a more robust item system, or at least better sorting. Following this, upgrades and buffs seem very weak compared to the effort to get them. Overall, this is a decent time waster, but it's so close to being good. It just needs some polish, refinement, and love.

Great value for the price. There's no tutorial, but it's not too hard to figure out just by pressing different buttons. Many different squad combinations, but I found one that beat all difficulties with no trouble, and it got a little boring after that. Biggest problem is that the game occasionally bugs and destroys progress. Thankfully, manual cloud saving is present, so I only lost a day of progress instead of weeks.

Great game overall, the progression is smooth and straightforward, or as complicated as you want it. It feels similar to a TD game, but instead of placing things along a track, you fine-tune your monsters to deal with the oncoming waves. The tutorial is somewhat lacking, but everything is easy and fun to figure out. Very minimal predation on the in-app purchases, and nothing is permanently locked behind a paywall. I'm going to try out their other games to see how they hold up!

I am absolutely addicted to this game. There are purchases, but they're absolutely optional. I haven't come across a single add. There are plenty of rewards for days passed. I have zero problem purchasing from this game to support this developer. The lack of greed, and obvious love he put into this game should be , both, commended and rewarded. Kudos to you dev!

Love this game! You don't need need to spend money in order to unlock any of the features in fact the developer discourages you from doing so. That being said I have thrown about 25$ into it just to unlock a few features early and support the developer. (Sorry not sorry!) I have only ever put money into maybe five mobile apps in my life and this one is worth it. Keep up the good work. Can't wait for Dungeon Defense 2.

I am only on day 20 of my first run through but the game seems very nice. I love the pixel art and the gameplay is pretty simple. I do have a little bit of difficulty navigating everything in the between days menus but I'm still learning it all. my biggest pro AND con would be that it's great for about 15-30 mins at a time but it doesn't hold my focus for longer than that. that doesn't mean I won't come back to it just that it holds my attention for a short period.

Genuine indie castle defense game 10/10! For a dollar you can't get a better value! Works great as a tap game, very easy to understand as a beginner, but I can see it will be more complex later on. The developer is not out for money either, the "premium currency" can be earned in game. They're even kind enough to tell you when you go to the store page!

Seems simple on the surface but has just enough underneath the hood to be really engaging. No pay to win, little to no ads, easy to pick up, hard to put down. Literally sitting next to my PC with like 1500 steam games and am reviewing this. This game is a total gem. Kudos to the developer, I'm hooked! *Edit: They actually have a message telling you how to earn the premium currency and discourage buying it... Take my money!!!

I haven't played much of the game yet, otherwise I would rate higher. BUT The game is really fun so far, I love the different choices you have between heroes/mercenaries and the weapons for them. Chef's kiss indeed on that. The art style is very nice, which I feel is hard for some devs on this smaller scale. The pixel art is very nice for the resolution and, for once I can say, doesn't look goofy at all. Overall, the price compared to the enjoyment I've received so far is more than worth it.

My favorite gaming app by far. I've played it off and on for over a little more than 2 years, it's still been my favorite. There's no intrusive ads and it's not P2W like a lot of games are. It's a refreshing breath of fresh air for the gaming side of the app store, definitely would recommend. The gameplay is easy to pick up, the graphics are lovely, it's overall a fantastic game. Thank you developers for a wonderful experience with this game!

I normally don't write reviews, but this game deserves it! It's been so long since I've played a mobile game that was actually a game FIRST. No battle pass and no p2w wall. Makes me want to throw money at the game. Very humble dev/devs. Some of these big companies need to take notes. I personally enjoy the game because there's always something to work toward. Added bonus, doesn't drain my battery in 15 minutes either. All and all, GREAT experience!

It's a pretty good game, the gameplay is good it has plenty of unlockables. The game dev completely won me over with the in game shop. Not only are the items that are purchasable in the shop earnable in game, there is even a disclaimer when entering the shop informing you of this fact and making it clear that you don't have to spend any money on microtransactions. A wonderful deviation from the norm and I'm thoroughly impressed by the dev's display of character.

If you like the 'Defender' series, (most currently, 'Defender 3') then you will probably enjoy this game very much. Incorporates genre elements of Defense, Incremental, RPG, and some Strategy games elegantly; it will be hard to put down once you get into it because there's so much you can do between waves which are typically quite short and very satisfying.

It is a real game. Not just an ad running devise to scam your money with terrible gameplay and such. Although there are paid aspects of the game, I've been able to have fun thus far. Still, could use a section to understand some of the mechanics. Not a whole lot is explained. But it isn't hard to learn so far. Also the grammar is decent. I know a lot of mobile games that can't even grammar check stuff.

This game is really quite fun. The lack of tutorial is a bit of an issue as many other reviews mention, however, if you just go through all the menus and read it's fine. A few tips, make sure you fully upgrade your team to 5 members ASAP, and you can enhance your weapons 4 times a day, so make sure to do that. But anyway, the game is a blast and a great time killer.

No ads, 1 dollar entry fee, absolutely no need to partake in microtransactions, and each store page actually has a clear banner the first time you enter it stating that all the microtransactions are entirely optional and that no content is locked behind a paywall. This game would have been excellent value for $5, for $1 it's a no brainer to try out.

I don’t understand the hype over this game. It is beyond boring to play with zero instructions on what to do. There is so much that has to be done after a dungeon is cleared and there’s no guidance on what any of it is. You spend more time doing upgrades, selling things, learning about your dungeon, and reinforcing it (none of which seem to make a difference) than you do actually defending the dungeon. Don’t let the teaser video fool you, the actual play is entirely automated, which means you have no control over what enemies are targeted or when your guys attack. I watched enemies make it to the dungeon wall when they could have been taken out earlier. Your sole job during battle is to activate special abilities once they fill up. Once you sit through the automated fight it’s back to spending five minutes upgrading stuff with no instructions, then repeat. I’ve had more fun watching paint dry. It hasn’t had an update in a year so apparently the developer is done. Spend your money elsewhere.

The game is based off the concept that you control a creature of your choosing and you have to defend your dungeon against knights, mages, archers, etc. You can also hire mercenaries to help defend against the onslaught. You can upgrade your dungeon and earn more money, have more health and more. This has great gameplay mechanics and doesn't require an internet connection. This is great because I usually only play while going somewhere. This game is one of the few mobile games that I would be willing to pay money for. Money can easily breeze through the game for you if you can pay. Most of the features, though, are accessible by just playing the game (might take some time though!). Very fun and I remember playing this a couple months back and trying to find it on the App Store. All in all, I would highly recommend you try this game.

Excellent Rpg, top-down shooter, tower defense, base-building hybrid; on the surface it seems easy enough, and learning the basics are, but the depth and mastery needed to traverse the higher level difficulties (which you'll want to do for access to all currencies and mechanics) is damn near mandatory and an enjoyable experience. 9/10*. Highly Recommended at $0.99, recommended even at full price.

When I first played this game, I instantly begun having fun. The fighting sound effects are almost like asmr and the difficulty gets progressively harder which gives a challenge. I’ve put many hours into this game and still don’t get bored of it, something I can’t say for many other games I see today. The level up process is super convenient and you can even prioritize an ability for your teammates to auto-upgrade. Overall, this is my favorite mobile game to play whether I’m bored, in need of a time spender, or just for fun.

This is a rare thing: an actual game that you play that doesn’t try to get you to spend money every five minutes or artificially stall your progress to force you to spend money on upgrades. You don’t even need to be online to play. You get five dudes, and they fling things at adventurers trying to invade your dungeon, and you try to grind out ways to make things run more efficiently. Good for numbers geeks and people who are a little more on the OCD end of things. It’s like running little battle simulations where you can tweak stuff to try and get better results each time. Much more interactive than other ‘idle’ games, and the math behind it all seems well thought out. I like the style of the graphics. They fit well with the theme, and the actual action when a battle gets going is fun to watch. Coding seems solid too. I haven’t had a single crash or glitch, and even the tool tips update on the fly. I’ve played a lot of games where the devs get sloppy and don’t put the time in on those little finishing touches, so good job.

This game, despite other reviews, is a great game. IT IS NOT ENTIRELY AUTOMATED. When defending your castle, the character you choose is also a defender. Tapping the screen lets you shoot arrows, or fireballs, or whatever. Most of the time, your character is also the strongest one. However, once you play it for a few minutes and gain some mercenaries, it becomes entirely possible to not tap the screen once and still have a fully health dungeon. Anyways, this game is not for you people who like to buy a game that you spend only five minutes on before deleting. It is meant for further progression. Everything from the dungeon upgrades to the diverse weapon system to the unique skills and special attacks make it a great game. IAPs are also basically non-existent. Overall, this game is a great addition to anyone’s game library.
