When i heard about a crash course application i was so excited, and thought about being finally able to access all the videos at anytime ... I wish that the videos could be downloadable and watchable offline (being independent from youtube) It would have been the most useful and the most fruitful app i would have on my phone if that was possible.
Que Ad! When I'm taking a break from my career obligations, I enjoy watching a plethora of videos. These videos include educational ones as well. One of my favorite channels for the past several years has to be Crash Course! They make learning fun! From World History, to Engineering, to even Chemistry and A&P. They utilize a methodology in their videos that almost bring back the sensation of learning as kids. The "thought bubble" is by far my favorite... There is not enough space for the rest.
I'm loving the app so far! While it is in early release, generic flaws can occur. I'd love to see more courses, more activities and achievements, and a wide range of course levels! I recall the discussion of an app only being an long-term idea, but now it's real! I'm excited to see the future of this app!
Hey I am a big crash course fan but i was really dissapointed with the app! I cannot download anything. When I click on the download button, its turns into a grey circle and then nothing happens and when i check after sometime it tells me to download again! Please fix this problem. I love your courses and videos and would love to use this app if you fix this issue. Will surely update to a five star rating once the problem is resolved! I hope you would take this review into consideration. Thanks
Sorry to give a 1star rating being a huge crash course fan. Just my only prolem is why does it take so much time to download a course in the app, like literally 30+ minutes and only because I was determined. And if my phone gets turned off due to inactivity for a long time I have to redownload the entire course again. I swear it actually took me 2 hours to download the chemistry course. I just wish it only took a minute max to download a course. After downloading though it works like a charm.
I absolutely love the content on the YouTube channel. Everything is super easy to learn and also super fun. The graphics are my favourite. They make learning super enjoyable. My only problem is in the app the circle gets stuck while downloading and its not clear that if it is downloading or not and also if we press back once even accidentally then it gets reset and you have to start again. But overall love this app and also that its for free. Now i can learn whatever i want. Thankyou.
Great job with the app! Been watching for a while and rewatch some stuff even for university. One thing though, it would be much better if you guys made it so there is some sort of sound once u answer a question. That would make it much more satisfying! Otherwise the UI is kinda slow but it's definitely a work in progress that's going to help millions around the world! THANK YOU!
At last I'm able to get inside the app, though it took time the content is worth learning for everyone. Of course it is getting redirected to youtube, it ain't a problem for me, I can access all the crash course courses from a single app and at the same time learn using the decks. Which otherwise is not possible with youtube alone. So, this app allows to practice what is taught in videos.
I don't understand why anyone would download this app. Its only attribute is being able to download the videos you were watching online anyway. There are flash cards, but only for 3 courses, and the cards focus on rote memorization rather than helping you learn the material. Other than that, this app offers literally nothing else.
I love the way they have sort the videos into categories. I've been watching Crash Course on YouTube and the content is very useful. Frankly I like the app, but, I just wish there was an option to stream the videos instead of downloading a whole series. It would really be a big help to those who are on slow networks.
I really like the app, it's very good, more advanced than other apps in their early stages. I'd like to have an option to filter the classes instead of having to scroll through all of them. Maybe making folders like science, history, literature, etc would be very helpful. I really like the flashcards option, and it's very useful to be able to watch the video and then have a set that covers the stuff from the video!
I've been of your content for awhile, finding it entertaining and informative and the thought of an app created by you sounded exciting. Feeling guilty as can't support financially as I'm still a kid; so watching your videos, liking and sharing was my way of supporting. I can't wait to see further improvement of this app as there has been a few problem from my side. As being just released, I did not expect much. There is no way to access videos or play with cards. And so on. Hope my comment help
Unfortunately though I absolutely adore your videos on youtube, this app isn't working as expected. I contributed on my way to downloading some content because of the quality of your videos. However, the download circle on your app doesn't provide enough detail to advise me if my download is stuck, or taking a long time. I advise maybe a percentage or more detailed file size download. At the moment my downloads are not working for the anatomy and physiology course.
[Edit] Got it working, love the app its a great learning tool! / /I've just downloaded the app and I really like the thought, but unfortunately I'm yet to still successfully download a course; I don't care that it might take a while but I do wish there was an option to download it in the background, as soon as I close the app it has to download completely from the start again
The download experience is absolutely abysmal. There is no way to download only part of a course, nor is it possible to pause downloads. The moment I lock my screen or navigate away from the app, the download stops and I have to start all over again. There is also no warning when you're downloading over 4G (though it might stop downloading entirely?)
Fantastic start for the initial app launch! The UI is excellent in most cases, Thought Bubble did a great job and I love the inside jokes in the loading bar. I do think however that the UX needs some work, as its not as straightforward to start watching content as I think it should be. When you go to a course it shows a list of screenshots, but it seems obvious these should be episode links to start playing videos. The goal should be get to content in 3 taps, like 3 clicks on a website.
Very very useful, though when downloading a deck, I have to keep the particular page open otherwise it will be cancelled and I have to restart it all over again. The graphic is extraordinary. And if I may make a suggestion, can you add, like, markings to the decks we have already gone over in the past? Just to not confuse them with the one we haven't :D
The flashcards are great, the video quality is as great as always. Reason why I put 5 stars is that I suggest to add a video player in the app itself, because when it redirects to youtube, it's kind of useless. Also I don't think the idea of having to download the course first to access it is a good one. Some people dont have big storage in their phone, give us the option to just stream and use it online, and another option to download. Great app for studying, nonetheless.
This app is great! I love the flashcards as they test us on all the important parts of the topics. Would love to see more decks for other subjects as well! Also, a problem is that if I try to take a quiz of a few lessons together, the app crashes after a while, maybe due to the large number of cards? Would like to see this fixed. Thanks :)
As a huge chemistry nerd, I absolutely love the Chemistry and Organic Chemistry subjects. The videos are clear and concise and the multi-choice quiz cards are perfect for revision or just wanting to feel good about yourself for knowing certain topics :) Everything is free to learn with the option of donating. If you enjoy this content and can afford to donate, I suggest that you do, as I have, so that more content can be created. There are also loads more subjects to learn from :)

THANK YOU!
I love the way they have sort the videos into categories. I've been watching Crash Course on YouTube and the content is very useful. Frankly I like the app, but, I just wish there was an option to stream the videos instead of downloading a whole series. It would really be a big help to those who are on slow networks.
Thanks :)
When i heard about a crash course application i was so excited, and thought about being finally able to access all the videos at anytime ... I wish that the videos could be downloadable and watchable offline (being independent from youtube) It would have been the most useful and the most fruitful app i would have on my phone if that was possible.
I don't understand why anyone would download this app. Its only attribute is being able to download the videos you were watching online anyway. There are flash cards, but only for 3 courses, and the cards focus on rote memorization rather than helping you learn the material. Other than that, this app offers literally nothing else.

Thankyou.
