If you're a very late newbie like I am, the amount of content available may be quite overwhelming. I also don't like how they stuff your pockets with the basic currency and level up items way more than you know what to do with. The characters are rendered and animated very well, at least. The stories vary from intriguing to plotless, but it's fun if there are characters you really like.
Is pretty decent, but it slows down drastically after completing the story modes. You also get a lot less gems, as a lot of it is tied to completing things for the first time. This makes pulling on the banners not worth it unless a very powerful sync pair arrives there (or a sync pair featuring your favorite pokemon arrives). Also, there's a lot of quality of life options that can make grinding and navigating easier.
I love pokémon masters EX so much, it's a very fun and appealing game. I love the concept of a pokémon RPG(ish) style game, and I love the wide variety of trainers. My only complaints though are after you complete the main PML arc in the game, gems are REALLY hard to obtain after that. I already did end game content and still can't find ways to get gems without paying money. Second, It's SUPER hard to get a specific trainer you want in the gatcha, Plus you're not guaranteed someone every time :/
The game is fun at first- there is lots to do, rewards to collect, and lore to discover. But, after a few days, the rewards fizzle out, you complete the main storyline, and you're just left sitting there at the screen, puzzled as to what happened. I've come to just log on every day, and not much else. I would give 5 stars, but after the rewards dwindle, it becomes very P2W.
I wish I could give it higher than 2 stars, because I really do enjoy this game. I love seeing all the characters from the mainline series being given story arcs, relationships, outfits, etc. But the app is extremely, EXTREMELY prone to crashes both in-game and out of game. I am running Pokemon Masters EX on one of the newest android phones and I still have constant issues with crashes. I have been unable to login for multiple days and have lost out on certain bonuses + events. Very frustrating.
